TOKYO, JAPAN

Between the 4th and 7th of December 2023, parts of NOMEX were present in Tokyo, Japan.
Export Music Sweden led this Nordic Trade Mission with 13 delegates from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. 
Three days of company visits, panels, networking, and experiencing Tokyo. We started the journey with a kick-off dinner with all delegates, collaborators, and consultant Haji Taniguchi. 

At the same time in Tokyo, a songwriting camp with Nordic and Japanese songwriters, organized by Export Music Sweden in collaboration with Sony Music Publishing, was underway. We started off the trade mission by visiting this camp at Freedom Studio Infinity.
During these 3 days, we visited companies such as Spotify and TikTok, as well as a visit to the 8-story Tower Records record store in Shibuya. 

We invited Japanese music industry to give brief presentations to the delegation about the Japanese market and their companies. We met Kotaro Saito (songwriter and producer) who spoke about handling advertising agencies in Japan, Nozomi Daikuhara from Ekko Music Rights, Lauren Kocher from Vegas PR Group, Yoko Noaki from Music Plant, and Onto Shiroh Kawaguchi from Creativemen Production.

The delegation was also invited to the Swedish residence by Ambassador Pereric Högberg, where we had lunch and networked with the Japanese industry.

We concluded this journey with a dinner for all Nordic delegates and participants in the songwriting camp, along with Sony Music Publishing Japan.
