NORDIC TRADE MISSION
TO

MUSIC BIZ

NOMEX WILL TAKE NORDIC MUSIC COMPANIES TO ATLANTA & NASHVILLE

Music Biz 2025 conference will take place on May 12-15, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. NOMEX organises a Nordic Trade Mission in connection with the event with an additional day in Nashville between May 12-16, 2025.

Music Biz is one of the most prestige business and networking events for the music industry in the United States. This year the event will move from Nashville to Atlanta. One of the key distinguishing factors of Music Biz is its strong emphasis on business-to-business (B2B) connections. Unlike artist-centric events like SXSW, Music Biz focuses on building partnerships, discussing business solutions, and connecting decision-makers across sectors, including streaming, publishing, and tech companies.

Music Biz also attracts a uniquely diverse range of participants, including executives from major and indie labels, representatives from streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, music publishers, songwriters, distributors, and tech innovators. This broad mix of attendees ensures a dynamic networking environment where professionals can meet people from different areas of the industry. Furthermore, its ability to blend a global perspective with deep insights into the U.S. market makes it particularly valuable for international businesses and professionals.

Alongside the Music Biz 2025, NOMEX will organize a tailored program for music exporters, consisting of meetings, company visits and networking during the Music Biz event in Atlanta on May 12-15 and in Nashville on May 16. The NOMEX program running in parallel the event and afterwards in Nashville runs approximately 2.5 days between May 12-16. NOMEX will have a dedicated meeting space in the conference venue between 13-14 May. In addition, participants take part in the Music Biz event's own seminar program and side events. The Nordic programming will be produced and curated in collaboration with Music Ally (UK.)

The trade mission is offered primarily to professionals specialized in songwriting export, such as music publishing companies and managements representing songwriters and composers. However, Music Biz conference and the companies it brings together annually is highly valuable to the recording side of music as well.

The selection criteria for the trade mission delegation are the relevance of the company and its customers in the US market, as well as the timeliness and professionalism of the export plan. The choices are also influenced by the diversity of the participants.

3-4 attendees from each participating country will be selected for the trade mission. The program includes a pass to Music Biz conference (value $1499). Companies will need to pay their own travel and accommodation expenses, but they may be eligible for financial support for travel and accommodation based on the policy of the country’s music export office.

“Throughout its rich 65+ year history, the Music Business Association has provided the music industry with a forum to connect and collaborate. Our annual conference has evolved into a thriving melting pot for executives and creatives alike to push the industry at large forward, gain exposure for international innovations & working methods, and especially to support songwriters and publishers who are the heart of what we do. As we move the conference to Atlanta for the first time in the Association's history, we are excited about the new learnings and connections that this community offers our attendees. We look forward to welcoming and working with our peers from the Nordic music industry to make Music Biz 2025 their best conference experience yet.” — Music Biz President, Portia Sabin
